Professor Mark Birch-Machin, CSO/ Founder of Skin Analytics

Mark pioneered the use of mitochondrial DNA as a biomarker of environmentally induced damage in skin after 30 years of research at the University of Newcastle. He has published extensively including three different Nature journals and has a 25 year track record of working with international media (TV, radio, newspapers, magazines) and has been a press spokesperson for national and international skin charities. He was presented with a LifeTime Achievement award for his contribution to Cosmetic Science at the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2023. Currently, he is the CSO/Founder of Skin Life Analytics.
