Kevin Freeman-Ferguson, Head of Service Review at Healthcare Improvement Scotland
Kevin currently leads the regulatory functions of Healthcare Improvement Scotland. This includes both the Independent healthcare function and the use of ionising radiation for medical exposures. Kevin has been working in public and environmental health since 1998 and been involved in inspecting and regulating services for his whole career. Kevin joined NHS Quality Improvement Scotland is 2009 to inspect NHS hospitals as part the Healthcare Environment Inspectorate. Following the Creation of Healthcare Improvement Scotland and a variety of roles in the organsistion, Kevin started took up the role leading the regulation of the Independent Healthcare Sector around 2013 and has had a key role ever since. Prior to working for Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Kevin has held a variety of roles in local authorities the third sector and private sector all related to inspection, regulation and public health and safety.
